About 7 Steel Nordic Recycling

We recycle scrap into Europe’s most environmentally friendly reinforcement steel.

Our production facilities process iron and metal scrap, which is then recycled into reinforcement steel.

We operate in southern Sweden, collecting scrap from industries, farms, demolitions, and scrap dealers.

Sell Your Scrap

Your waste is our gold. Sell your scrap to us and contribute to a greener future.

7 Steel Nordic Recycling is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of sustainable reinforcement steel and wire products.

Your Iron Scrap Becomes Europe’s Most Sustainable and Circular Reinforcement Steel

Iron scrap is transported to our steel mill, where it is melted down and transformed into new iron products such as reinforcement steel and wire products. The production of recycled materials in our steel mills results in significant CO₂ savings compared to virgin production. We also have our own ISO certification for our produced reinforcement steel.

We have a unique value chain that produces reinforcement steel entirely from traceable Nordic scrap.

Scrap – Iron Scrap

Recycling iron scrap is increasing as it becomes a more important raw material for steel mills worldwide, with more and larger electric arc furnaces being used.

Electric furnaces are primarily used for producing high-quality steel, such as stainless and heat-resistant steels. Carbon steel is also produced using scrap-based electric arc furnaces.

Iron scrap is sorted into approximately 25 different base qualities and, for the Swedish market, is classified in Skrotboken 2000. The trend is that each steel mill or foundry has its own unique requirements for the scrap raw material it wishes to purchase.

7 Steel Nordic Recycling accepts all types of iron scrap, processes, and sorts it to create a refined raw material for 7 Steel Nordic’s steel mills.

Scrap – Metal Scrap

Recycling metal scrap and metals results in significant savings.

For aluminum, the savings are 95% compared to production from virgin raw materials.

We trade in:

  • Pure metals (copper, stainless steel, tin, lead, brass, etc.)
  • Complex materials
  • Metal scrap/production waste (mixers, faucets, pipe fittings, clippings, foil, etc.)
  • Cables – all types
  • Electric motors and transformers

If you have metal scrap or products that need disposal, do not hesitate to contact us. If you are unsure, we are happy to visit and assist you on-site.

What Happens to the Metal Scrap I Sell to You for Recycling?

7 Steel Nordic Recycling sorts and, in some cases, processes metal scrap at our facilities across Sweden. We then sell these to end recipients who recycle and return the metals to the market as raw materials.

Scrap – Environment

A Leading Environmental Effort

7 Steel Nordic Recycling aims to preserve the environment, prevent, and minimize environmental impact from the company’s activities. We strive to contribute to sustainable development from a life cycle perspective.

ISO Certification – Environment & Quality

Our production facilities in Olofström, Karlshamn, and Västerås are ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.

We continuously secure our processes, both internally and with our partners, to ensure our services and materials are handled correctly.

We work with quality based on the motto:
Right quality at the right time, combined with excellent service.

Geotextile and Oil Separators

The different types of scrap arriving at our scrap yard by truck are processed and sorted into ready-to-ship scrap raw material and stored correctly from a quality and environmental perspective.

To achieve this, we have:

  • A stone-paved platform
  • Covered material compartments with a closed tank system for oil-contaminated materials
  • Material compartments connected to an oil separator
  • A storage hall

To ensure that we do not negatively impact our surroundings, we have also installed geotextile fabric under most of our Olofström facility. This directs all liquids to an oil separator, a unique feature in the Swedish scrap industry.

Demolition

Demolition with the Right Equipment and Skilled Personnel

With the right team, modern demolition equipment, and extensive expertise, we guarantee a well-executed project, even for complex demolition tasks.

We have extensive experience in the demolition industry and a modern machinery fleet, operated by our highly qualified and experienced employees.

We are experts in dismantling industrial components and can remove an entire production line without leaving traces on the building or the remaining equipment.

Efficient Demolition with a Focus on Safety

From small to large projects, we can carefully dismantle all types of structures, including conveyors, cranes, and tanks, even within operating facilities.

If your machines need to be preserved, we pay extra attention to dismantling them for reuse.

Demolition is Part of the Circular Value Chain

Proper demolition is crucial for achieving sustainability goals and reducing the consumption of natural resources. By 2025, at least 70% of construction and demolition waste must be recycled or prepared for reuse.

When 7 Steel Nordic Recycling handles demolition projects, you can be sure that all demolition waste in the form of iron scrap is recycled into one of the world’s most CO₂-efficient reinforcement steel productions.

Through our parent company, 7 Steel Nordic, we guarantee that steel scrap is part of a circular economic value chain, powered by fossil-free hydropower.

Circular Economy

Circular Economy & Steel – The Eternal Material

A sustainable circular economy reduces the strain on nature by ensuring that resources are used as long as possible.

Steel is an eternal material, and steel recycling is fundamental to achieving a circular economy.

  • Recycling means reusing a product or material, either for its original purpose or a similar one, without significantly altering its physical form.
  • Steel recycling involves melting down steel products at the end of their lifespan to create new steel. This process changes the steel object’s physical form so that it can be repurposed.

At 7 Steel Nordic Recycling, we guarantee that we recycle your steel scrap into reinforcement solutions for sustainable communities.

Through our parent company, 7 Steel Nordic, we ensure that your steel scrap is part of a circular economic value chain, driven by hydropower.

7 Steel Nordic is the leading Nordic manufacturer offering the world’s most environmentally friendly reinforcement steel.
